Belly Casting

Free Belly Casting!!

I need volunteers!
I have extensive knowledge working with the plaster gauze used for belly casts- 15 years making various masks, forms, crafty projects used onstage and off- but I have limited experience with belly casting. So here’s the deal: you supply the space and reimburse me for what I purchase for you, and I will do all the work for free!

A few basic items are needed for belly casting- plaster gauze tape (Rigid Wrap), which can be found at most craft stores (or you can buy a kit from various retailers), and a greasy lubricant like Vaseline or Crisco shortening. Additionally, you will need a large bowl or bucket of warm water, something to cover the floor (this gets messy!), and somewhere comfortable and private. The process takes around an hour.

Belly casting is something the whole family can participate in. If you have older children, I am happy to include them in the process!

After the cast is completed and fully cured (I like to wait at least 2 days before doing anything drastic), you will have a real-life mold of your beautiful belly that you can personalize however you wish. Some like to paint their cast, and some like to leave it in it’s raw state. Do a google search for belly casts, and you’ll see how many options there are!
